For this blog post, I gotta say... 'Dove, you've done it again!.' Years after years, it seems for me that Dove never fails to make their video go viral. Here's what Dove released this year in April, 2013.
If you have seen their other videos before, you will realize that all of their video conveys the strong message and what the brand stands for. 'THE REAL BEAUTY.'
Some people might not understand why Dove needs to pay attention to this kind of stuff since at the end it doesn't show or advertise any of Dove's products. The answer in my opinion will probably be... because it doesn't sell the products at the end, that's why it makes the video look so sincere. Dove wants to convey that message that we understand you, customers. Each video will contain positive message about beauty and make the audience feel good about themselves after watching the video.
In short, I think it's not the products that Dove wants to sell in the video, but it's the brand. That's why it doesn't matter if you don't show any of your products on the ad. What you need is the strong message about what your brand stands for... and that will make your brand become more memorable in customer's mind.
In other words, 'buy your customer's heart.'
